Fellowship Level 6 Objectives & Synopsis:

  1. To demonstrate how emotions, mental attitude & mental blocks can lead to disease
  2. To understand the spiritual impediments to healing
  3. To understand how resolving attitudinal, emotional & spiritual impediments to healing can result in physical healing without any therapy on a physical level
  4. To provide various “tools” to accomplish resolution of mental, emotional & spiritual impediments to healing
In Level 6 we exam the importance of emotions, thoughts and beliefs to wellbeing and overall health. The training in this level helps to better understand the mental, emotional & spiritual aspects of health & healing and will equip practitioners to more effectively address these very important issues with their clients/patients. Integrative medicine practitioners view the person as “whole” and as such treat the entire person, including the emotions, mind and spirit. Studies by the Established Medical Complex have noted connections between mental, emotional and physical health. There are also studies showing a positive impact from prayer. Yet, the Medical Complex rarely addresses these important connections in the health and wellness of their patients. The Medical Complex treats the compartmentalized pieces of a person to the extent that multiple specialists are needed. These specialists often do not collaborate, even though a recommendation from one specialist might adversely affect the recommendations from another.

Ancient medicine practices, sometimes millennia old, acknowledge that emotions can and usually due affect a person's health and wellbeing. For example:
  • fear affects the urinary bladder, kidneys, adrenal glands, gonads & genitalia
  • anger affects the liver, gall bladder & bile ducts,
  • rejection increases a person’s risk for asthma, arthritis, cardiovascular disease, depression and others
  • plus many other emotions.
To complicate matters, emotions often create other emotions. For example, rejection can be a trigger for anger and fear. In addition, many negative emotions adversely affect a person’s cognitive ability and the immune system.

Integrative practitioners, who treat the whole person, found that addressing emotions as a key component of treatment, can markedly improve the physical health and wellbeing of their clients/ patients. Most people have an innate sense of physical response to emotional stimulation. Fear can create an uncomfortable feeling in the abdomen, rejection can cause “heartache”, and so on. Yet, as a rule, a person does not connect emotions to disease nor in most cases does the Medical Complex.

How is it possible that this most important component of wellbeing is simply ignored? The Medical Complex is built around diagnosis and treatment fitting and conforming to an established method of practice that lends itself to producing a code that can be used to collect payment from a third-party payer. This type of practice sees the patient as a series of diagnoses leading to numerous treatments which then produces an outcome where the outcome often does not correct the underlying cause of the patient’s affliction. This often leads to maintaining and managing a disease but not in curing the ailment.
We believe, emotions are often a part of the root cause of a person’s disease. Helping someone resolve their emotions does not fit neatly into the Medical Complex’s paradigm, therefore the practice of resolving emotions as a key to wellbeing and overall health is frequently attacked.

If emotions are as important as we have discussed then it would be wise for all health professionals to learn the benefits to the patient/client of specifically addressing the spiritual and emotional aspects of health for the betterment of their patients/clients. People with a health issue want to be taken seriously and be seen as important to their health professional. Surveys have shown that patients, as a whole, highly appreciate practitioners who view them as person and not a number or disease type. They also show an appreciation for having their spiritual and emotional concerns addressed in a sensitive manner.
Level 6 of the Fellowship brings into focus the importance of emotions, thoughts, and beliefs to the overall health and wellness of a person. You’ll learn the power of emotions both positive and negative. You’ll learn the importance of thinking to overcoming disease. You’ll learn that a person’s belief structure can be key to recovering good health and maintaining it. This level will give you knowledge and tools to help your patients/clients regardless of their current health status.

"They don't ask you to be God but they ask for a path for healing and for hope. Help them find it."
