The role of chronic stress in degenerative disease, including cancer, is well-documented. Even so, despite a wealth of data, surprising risk factors such as early childhood experience and psychosocial factors receive relatively little attention. In the last decade, however, extensive evidence supports the key role of behavioral medicine in meeting the challenge not only of these risks but of chronic stress itself. A six-week behavioral medicine model incorporating these findings and endorsed by leading experts in oncology will be presented. As a testament to the cost-saving potential and efficacy of these techniques insurers have added reimbursement codes for these new methods and some offer discounts to members trained in their use."/>
