Eighty per cent of our Lyme patients test positive for this condition. HPU is the defect of several enzymes needed for heme synthesis. HPU results in the accelerated excretion of zinc, manganese, arachidonic acid, molybdenum and others - and chronic states of unwellness. In the literature three causes of HPU are discussed:
· genetic,
· early trauma, and
· chronic infections
We are proposing that today, HPU is induced most often by Lyme spirochetes - to disarm the host's white blood cells and other aspects of immunity. In this talk I will discuss diagnosis and treatment of this condition which underlies a host of chronic illnesses.
